This website was designed to aid children's historical knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Industrial Revolution. It is aimed at Key Stage 2 children participating in the Victorian Period programme of study outlined in the National Curriculum.

The website is best used in the classroom or at home as an internet based resource to support children, parents and teachers researching about the industrial revolution, with particular emphasis on the role that children played in this period of history. This directly links to the National Curriculum requirements for History at Key Stage 2. The website has been designed to include all types of learners through use of text, video, audio and visual resources.

Homework tasks and external website links are updated weekly.

My name is Amy Burnet and I am a 4th year student studying  a BA (Hons) Primary Education with Qualified Teaching Status degree programme at the University of Sunderland. I have designed and made this website following a course of lectures and seminars regarding the construction and evaluation of web-based resources. I am passionate about History and I have recently taught a series of History lessons based on the Victorian Revolution to a year 6 class. I have included examples of my lesson plans and resources on the Teachers Page section of this website, please feel free to use and  adapt these resources to suit the needs of your class.
